Second Version
June 14, 2015
A week of very easily interrupted weaving has seen the next length of fabric finished. I even managed to get it washed and dried, so once the recipients have chosen their lining fabric, I'll be in full sewing mode.
It's actually a dark navy, both warp and weft, and is the same threading and tie up as the green/black version. The only difference is that this fabric has been treadled with a straight draw. I'm pleased with both fabrics and really pleased at how different they look.
This coming week I'm going to be doing some dyeing experiments for some later work and trying to get some more work done on the PCW Fibreworks course that I'm involved with. I'm struggling with the module I'm doing at the moment and it's making me feel quite thick because I can't quite seem to get the program to do what I want so that it suits the number of shafts and treadles that I actually have. I can't see the point in playing around with weaving structures and then not being able to weave them. I keep feeling that I'm missing something - there has to be a key that will unlock the process ....???
