Using drawing to develop designs
This two day workshop (12 hours) includes the three hour introduction to drawing, or if there are confident drawers in the group, other drawing exercises are used to “warm up” the visual brain.
Students are asked to bring research images for a topic which interests them (or this can be supplied/developed in conjunction with the tutor), and these are used to start the development of a design which can be used for weaving, knitting or felting (whichever technique the student chooses) .
Various design exercises are explored over the time and all students should complete a useable design by the end.
